Celebration of Learning

This week Butterflies enjoyed investigating maps of Farnham and the local area. They investigated places and their symbols. Butterflies identified locations including St Andrew's and Potters Gate Schools on a variety of maps including aerial photo maps. (April 2026)

For National Science Week, Butterflies have been curious scientists that investigated what amounts of sand and water make the best mixture for a strong and stable sandcastle. (April 2026)

Butterflies enjoyed recreating the Jewish Friday Night family meal of Shabbat. Serving each other and eating, drinking and talking together. (March 2026)

Butterfly Class looked fantastic as Victorian school children when they visited the Farnham Museum. They were interested historians at their strict Victorian school: using chalk and slate, dip pens, performing exercise drills and learning about the Victorian period. During the session, the children used Victorian artifacts, to role play a variety of day to day tasks. (January 2026)

Butterfly Class had a fabulous hands on learning session to explore the meaning of the Nativity at the Waverley Abbey, Travelling Nativity. (December 2026)

In Art, Butterfly Class explored how artists create different effects by using warm and cold colours (November 2025)

Butterflies had a great experience with the animals that Mill Cottage Farm brought in to show the children. This was a great start to the biology unit in Science, where the children will be learning about animals as well as humans. (November 2025)

In History, we have been looking at family trees, including that of the Royal Family (November 2025).

In Writing, we have used colourful semantics to improve our sentence structures (November 2025).

In Maths, we have been learning about number bonds and part-part whole models (October 2025).

Our focus has been on families this term - we have thought about our circles of care and who is in them (September 2025).
