St. Andrew's - St. Andrew's Challenge

Dear Parents and Carers of St Andrews School,

We hope that the children are settling back into school well!

As you will be aware, PTFA activities and fund-raising events have been very limited over the last year. Whilst we are on the road to being able to do more, we thought that we could do something that wouldn’t involve too much contact but that would still raise a bit of money for the school.

We have decided to create a family walking or running challenge covering the miles from our own lovely St Andrew’s school to St Andrews in Scotland...and back again! The total distance (according to Google maps) is 872 miles. The challenge will start on Monday 17th May and will continue throughout the summer - or until we hit our target!

This will very much be a team event. Each family that signs up and be able to log their miles through Strava App (see attachment for instructions). Strava will automatically add all the miles together so that we can see our progress throughout the challenge.

We realise that asking for sponsorship can be sensitive at the moment so, with this in mind, we have decided to charge an entry fee. The cost of a family entry will be £10 which will go straight to the school. In addition, T-shirts (adult £12.50/child £8.50) and tote bags (£8.00) will be available to buy, for those who would like them. Desirabilitee in Aldershot have very generously given us an excellent deal on the t-shirts and Hels Palmer has designed us a fantastic logo. Any profit made on the sale of these T-shirts and bags will also go to the school. We have created a Just Giving page that will be shared on social media so please feel free pass it on, if you feel comfortable to do so.

Please could I ask that you sign up and order by Friday 14th May in order for us to be able to start on the Monday and so we can get the T-shirts to you as quickly as possible.
